Whether you wish to use this for language learning, practicing lyrics to a song, or re-listen to a lecture from class, this app is for you!

This audio player features the ability to automatically break up audio (including audio from videos) into phrases for "shadowing" (also sometimes referred to as "mimicking" or "chorusing"). Shadowing is a language learning technique aimed at boosting fluency by improving accent, pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, and pitch through focused repetition of short phrases or words, with the goal being to eventually be able to perfectly imitate the reference audio.



The app automatically splits the audio track into phrases, but with the phrase editing tool, phrases can be adjusted as necessary. If you don't have audio readily available on your device to shadow, the recorder can record from either your microphone, or on Android 10 (Q) and later, from apps playing on the device (some apps may disable this functionality).

5 play modes are supported (all can be played on infinite repeat):

Normal mode - play a single phrase
Full audio - play the whole audio file uninterrupted
All phrases - play the whole audio skipping sections between phrases
Fixed repeats of a single phrase - play a single phrase a fixed number of times (customizable with Pro)
Repeat phrases a fixed number of times - Play all phrases, but repeat each phrase a certain number of times before moving onto the next one (customizable with Pro)

Support development by purchasing the Pro version upgrade! This version unlocks unlimited recording length (30 seconds per recording on the free version), and custom playback settings, such as being able to set a custom playback speed (the free version lets you set the speed to 50%, 100%, or 150% of the source audio), and all playback modes for audio of all length (in the free version, audio greater than 2 minutes only supports normal mode).
